Mixed purchases

One shopping trip. Rental supplies and personal items.

Paper towels for the rental, coffee for the guests, ice cream for you. One receipt can contain different uses. Keeping the whole document makes the split easier to explain later.

doorledge records the rental portion you choose. It does not decide whether a purchase has a particular tax treatment. Assistant inbox workflows are in testing and require a compatible doorledge TestFlight build. They are not yet part of the current App Store release. Provider access and source permissions vary.

Keep the receipt and its total

Scan the receipt or, in compatible test builds, send it through an assistant. Check the date, total, tax, shipping, discounts and item prices against the source. An assistant must not fill in a price that the source does not show.

Choose the split that matches the purchase

Use the rental-share slider when a percentage expresses your allocation. Use the item editor when particular items belong to the rental or to personal use. Review shared charges separately and check that the assigned amounts balance with the receipt total.

The app keeps the full bill while recording your selected rental portion. A host with an ADU, a room, a home or an unusual property can use the same review flow.

Select and copy this prompt

Send this mixed purchase to doorledge as a draft with its actual item names and prices. Preserve the total and source. Leave the rental allocation for me to review; do not decide tax treatment.

Do not count the card charge again

A bank import can contain the payment for a receipt already recorded. Review possible duplicate matches before saving imported rows. A matching amount alone is not proof: check dates, merchant, order references and refunds.

At tax time, share the underlying record and your allocation explanation however you file. The saved split describes how you recorded the purchase, not a filing determination.
